This page is specifically designed for Linux systems setup as
a client system only. The script will overide some system files such
as /etc/ppp/options and /etc/ppp/pap-secrets which may affect your system
if you also run it as a dial-in server. Otherwise it will work fine for
most RedHat Linux distributions and Caldera distributions. The script
was not tested on other distributions but in most cases it should work
well if you have a properly configured modem device configured as
/dev/modem, a working pppd and chat.
To continue, simply download the
mkppp script, make it executable and run it as root.
