Why do I hear no dial tone when I'm trying to connect?

  • Plug your telephone set directly in to the phone jack and check whether there is a dial tone.  If there is no dial tone, please call your phone company.
  • Make sure the modem cable is connected to the modem port marked "TELCO" on one end and the wall jack at the other end.
  • Plug in a telephone set to the modem port "PHONE" and listen for a dial tone.  If you still don't hear dial tone from your telephone, your modem maybe defective.

Why do I get disconnected before the username & password verification?

  • The modem you have dialed into at JKL.net may be defective.   Please redial and if the problem persists, call JKL.net for support.
  • If there is no modem problem at JKL.net, then it is likely a bad phone line connection.  Please redail and if problem persists, call your phone company

Why do I get disconnected after the username & password verification?

    If you receive the Error 691: "The server you are dialing into cannot establish a connection. Check your password and try again."   Your problem can be one of the following,

  • You may have typed in the wrong username and/or password.
  • Your account has expired and you have not renewed with JKL.net.
  • Your account has exceeded the paid time limit.   You can request JKL.net to activate your account for overtime charges.
  • Your account has violated multiple login for more than 5 times and has been temporary suspended for an hour.   You should change your password if you suspect someone may be using your account without your consent.

  • You should have received warning emails for account expiry, exceeded paid limit or multiple login violation.

Why do I get disconnected during transmission?

  • Possible faulty modem at either end.   If problem persists, call JKL.net.
  • Possible line noise at either end.   If problem persists, call your phone company.

Why does internet explorer ask to work offline, even though I've connected?

  • Your Dial-up connections setting may have been set to "Never Dial a connection".
  • It should be set to "Always dial my default connection".

Why does my email client always freeze when downloading the same piece of mail?

  • You may have received an email with large attachments or the email is corrupted.  Please request JKL.net to delete the offending email from your mailbox.
  • In your email software, limit the download message size to avoid future occurrence.
  • You can also advise the sender not to send you emails with large attachments.

How can I get rid of unsolicited spam/junk mail?

  • You can filter unsolicited junk mail.
  • You can set the filter level and/or block email by Domain or by Mail List.

How can I forward my email to another address or setup an auto reply?
